Wow. That is all I can say. This has been one of the most touching videos that I have seen in a while. This may sound a little weird, but I actually got tears in my eyes! It did confuse me however that it was a shampoo commercial…
The setting seemed to be in a normal school with a girl who has a handicap. Just because she is deaf doesn’t mean that she is “handicapped” though. The main girl was so upset internally because she was different from others. It was very touching when the man asked her why she had to be like everyone else. The symbol of music show that even though you may not be able to hear it you can still see and feel it. Just because others accuse you of who you are doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go for your dream. Obviously the protagonist is the deaf girl and the antagonist is the other girl who always pushed her and her music down along with her self-esteem. The irony happened when the antagonist actually stood up in disbelief when the main character played her violin so well. For me the climax occurred when the main character was up on stage and played so well and made the audience extremely shocked. It was amazing.
The theme of this video is to never let others put you down what ever the obstacle may be. If you follow your dream you will truly shine no matter what.
Here is a video with some of the same characteristics of the other video. Paul Potts won Britain’s Got Talent a few years back and everybody thought that he would be a joke mainly because of the way he looked. The same thing happened to Susan Boyle on the last season. Just look where they are today! These people showed that you can do anything you want to if you just believe in yourself.
The lyre bird is truly unique! The way that it could sing the songs of other birds and sounds in the forest is really amazing. When I saw the video I could not believe how close it sounded to so many things. The only other bird that I have heard sing other birds’ songs is the mocking bird that everyone seems to hate here in Georgia.
I was also surprised at how well it could imitate the camera taking a picture and the sounds of a chain saw cutting down trees. It is really sad to know that because of human development the birds in the wild are starting to sound like man made noises instead of the ones made Mother Nature. This video has really opened my eyes and showed me that humans are really invading and destroying forests at a very rapid rate. Hopefully in the near future it will stop and the lyre bird can sing its original song.
Here is my word part project about the word Crypt. I’m sorry it is so short, but once I realised it was supposed to be at least two minutes I had already finished it. I hope you guys like it!
When I took this picture it was earlier in the summer. I finally figured out how to do this effect on picnik.com! I really like how it looks. Hope y’all like it!
Today there are so many different ways the ideal body is portrayed. For girls it is very slender, long and gorgeous hair, in style clothes, and make up to help hide the flaws. For boys it is to be fit and muscular. T.V. commercials, magazines, movies and posters are to blame for these “perfect” bodies. They also show that the happiest person is one with a mansion to live in with the perfect spouse to love and your life to just run so smoothly. This rarely happens in real life but people don’t realise it because they are surrounded by these advertisements every day. The best website that I found for this information and more is http://www.mediafamily.org/facts/facts_mediaeffect.shtml. It helped to open my eyes about how destructive the media can be on your self image.
I could not find any positive media influence when I searched for it, but one good influence is your parents. They will tell you that you look beautiful when nobody else does because they know best.
Girls and boys do not realise that the people they see in magazines and on t.v. are altered to look as good as they do. I know now that I now don’t care about all of it because I know that I’m the way I am supposed to look. I am no where close to slender, I do not have long gorgeous hair, I don’t even own an Abercrombie shirt, and I do not wear make up to hide my flaws. I realise know that I am me and look the way I do for some reason and I am fine with that. Nothing anybody can say will change my thoughts.
I have already had this posted a couple of days, but I thought of something I really wanted to add on here. I know that many of you have heard this song if you watched Mr. Rodgers. I was flipping through the t.v. over the summer and saw this. It really opened my eyes and remembered that when we were in elementary school we didn’t care how we looked. We just wanted to have friends, but now it seems like friendship depends on how you look. I really like the meaning of the song, and I hope you will too.
Today my family and I went up to Unicoi State Park and Anna Ruby Falls. It was really nice. We also rode by Helen, GA (which the fountian is at) and a near by Indian mound. Then we went by to see a small covered bridge which was featured in the 1951 movie I’d Climb The Highest Mountain. It was very sad to see such a nice little bridge with graffiti on the inside of it… Besides that we had a great time. Hope ya’ll enjoy the pictures! Just click on them to see them bigger.
To me, this video was very creepy and weird… The things that set the mood for me was the music and the characters facial expressions. It was like the pencil was glad that the girl disappeared by its grin. The music was very suspenseful, yet scary. I think that the theme of the video is to not wish for so much. If you do, you will be in worse shape than you were before. Just enjoy and appreciate what you have.
I’m not sure if I would want to draw anything with a pencil like that because of what happened to the girl, but if I did, it would probably be a really good camera or musical instruments. I would love to have a camera that is high quality and a lot of musical instruments to learn how to play. I would be pretty content with those things!
When I first started to do this, I thought that it would be very easy, at least a little bit. This showed me that I was really bad at trying to figure out what race people are. I only got five right both times that I tried! This exercise was really difficult. I had no idea what race some people were. To help me try to figure out where they went I looked at their shin color, facial features, and hair. This is really important to realise about ourselves. It shows that we should not judge people by the race they look like because you are most likely wrong about what race they are. There are so many different cultures in America today people should not try to figure out what race they are from. There is no one “true” race in the United States. I will not look at race the same way again after this exercise.
I thought that I would make an avatar that at least favored me. I tried that face of the future website but it looked nothing like me! So, now if anybody can recognise who it is, it’s me, Jenny. I figured I might as well let everyone know who musicgal09 is since I have never said. I guess that’s it for now!
